The South Orange County Stormwater Program will host a short virtual training session to share updates to the South OC Technical Guidance Document (BMP Design Manual). These updates will affect the preparation and review of water quality management plans (WQMPs) in areas of South OC regulated under the San Diego Regional MS4 (Stormwater) Permit.
The training will include worked case studies on proprietary biofiltration sizing, including how to maximize volume reduction of the design capture volume when using these BMPs, and will include an opportunity for Q&A.
Who should attend:
Land development community, including WQMP preparers, site engineers, BMP product vendors, and site owners.
Key Learning Objectives:
Changes to the structure of local Jurisdiction BMP Design Manuals. Learn to find jurisdictional design guidance and criteria. The South OC Technical Guidance Document will remain a primary technical reference. However, individual Jurisdiction BMP Design Manuals will serve a larger role in describing jurisdiction-specific criteria and processes.
Clarification on using proprietary BMPs in WQMPs. Using case study examples, learn updated guidance on designing to achieve maximized volume reduction when implementing proprietary biofiltration BMPs.
Review of other changes to the TGD and local Jurisdiction BMP Design Manuals. The training will summarize other guidance changes incorporated in response to San Diego Water Board staff review.
